On faith

"A man cannot have faith without asking, neither can he ask it without faith." (Edward Marbury)

Till the end

I do not only want to end this journey, but to end this journey braver, and stronger, than I first began it. To go through the whole thing again in a certain new way, in a less anxious, more trusting manner. Not doing these in waiting to be liberated, but to do these because I am already freed. This place must not take a captive of me.

How much do I need to love

It was persistent lately that I wished I had more love. I was saddened with myself for having little of it, told myself, 'Ah I must love better, I must love more. My love isn't strong and is lacking. I must try harder to love.' But love is not a sort of thing of trying harder. When I go to someone it can never be with the marked intention that I will love him/her much, but also with the welcoming that he/she too loves me, and perhaps loves to give more than I love to receive. How much love then is enough? Enough to take a step to come and get to know the love of others, and in it I will love more. This step alone is enough. In loving I let myself be loved, and in being loved I love more. While one who never tries to love never knows she is loved even when she is really loved, one who never knows how it is to be really loved never really loves.

I, too, feel the same. Thank you for sharing.

Everybody is learning

It is in learning to love I see the reason and motive beneath it are plainly a massive desire to be loved back in a way most suited me. I begin to doubt I should go on trying to learn to love, if ultimately it only makes me more selfish. But again it is only in learning to love others, I can know others are learning to love me too. One who never tries to love never knows she is loved, no matter how much she is really loved.

"Never came across to me in the process of knowing you things as disappointing. I only saw two people who try hard to love and express it in their own ways," a very dear friend once told me.

Courtesy

It is not useful to deny own feelings and to act unlike yourself, but it seems selfish to me to send horrible ripples when you are upset, or to be drown in own thoughts and give hostile silence when others are around, or to talk/behave in the false comfort of one's habits. This is not to say that one should act in the false closeness with others, but at least a healthier expression of distance and familiarity. Just because I am how I am is no reason for others to put up with me.

Architecture

Here I learn and must be ruthlessly honest of what I am not, of what I cannot do.

A plea

“LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word."

Imitate Christ, imitate each other

Imitation is natural to man from childhood. He is the most imitative creature in the world and learns first and best by imitation. Delight in imitating. =)

"By three methods we may learn wisdom:

First, by reflection, which is noblest;

Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and

Third by experience, which is the bitterest.” ~Confucius

Two weeks at home

Found self most urged to attend to personal obligations and set far-from-harmonious own house in order. Authority, obedience, service, sacrifice, time and again begin at home and always find their hands full enough there.

Keeping some messages from Pa. =)
1. The only self one can change in one's whole life is one's own self.
2. The only thing one should have and seek for in relationship is faith, thus faithfulness.
