God is all goodness. Expect He works that unexpected goodness into life.

A time for everything

Autumn, winter, and now spring. :) For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven. He is sufficient and faithful in every season. Trust God in whichever season and time God places me, whether it is an easy or hard season, good times or bad. I will find peace in the hard times because a good and faithful God is controlling, and I will not be anxious in the good times because my happiness really is not bound up in having to maintain them.

I would prefer the good times, naturally. However, if I do not trust Him in the bad times, it is quite likely that I would not trust Him in the good times either. God may bless me with good times, but I would not be able to enjoy them because somewhere inside I suspect and fear I would lose them some day.

He is good God. If my view is of a God who loves me is questioned, I would not know where to turn to. When I do not trust Him, I would have no one to turn to at all.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided -
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Contentment is where God is, and God is with me now. I have to trust that He cares for me. Not even the vainest of ladies bothers and cares to count the number of hairs on her head - He does mine.

Why did Cain kill Abel? Why does Abel's offering please the LORD? Why does not Cain's?

Abiding interest

Time can mean very little. Things that stir hearts are not so many after all - and they do not change. :)

Kjøttmeis

Copy paste from email to brother EF and AK:

And this afternoon, I definitely heard and saw a Kjøttmeis! Or rather, perhaps several of them. I took their photos with our pocket camera. It was also so fascinating to see how they have started to make sort of 'crickety' (?) sounds when there was a cat around watching them intently. Those were alarm calls?

What wonder a homemaker can enjoy from home - nature just a step away from home. ;) But perhaps this is specially for a homemaker in Trondheim. :p

My first birds

I have been entertained by the birds for days now. There are a variety of them just outside my windows, but I think the songs I have learnt to recognise are ones by the Kjøttmeis and Blåmeis. :)

Kjøttmeis (Great tit): 'teach-you, teach-you, teach-you.'(There could be more than 3 'teach-you's)
Blåmeis (Blue tit): 'tchee-tchee-(and then followed by a long trill of)tchtchtchtch...(and fading off)'

Now there are more of these chirping creatures, and I'd love to know the names of the owners of such beautiful songs. And of course to inspect them closer. :)
