Sunday at home
Day at home is not a hasty retreat from worship, I just think I need to find again worship. Anyway this morning my head was especially heavy. Days' deprive of exercise stole cheerfulness and sensibility. AK was understanding and brought me to a morning walk. It is amazing what sunshine and green can do to one's frame of mind. Doldrums are always too much for others to bear, I am sorry for him. Now that enjoyment and exercise have brought a brilliant disposition and happy glow into my face, I shall be lovely to him again.

Of two boys
I am fuming mad. I hate to scrimp while D (boy 1) splurges on my husband's hard earning. But as J (boy 2) wrote in his journal, all things, even the most unpleasant, benefited us like gold.
