Sovereignity and Freewill
This mystery of iniquity under the sovereign divinity always bothers. It seems that I like to have my heart troubled, and they (the theme appears for the umpteenth time in the forum) like to have it troubled for me.
God is sovereign, and as a sovereign God, He is absolutely free to do what He wills, or what He pleases to do. Man, having free will, is then free to make the choice, or do what he pleases, albeit against God's will. Here is what I see. God is free to do as He pleases, and among the things He pleases to do is to give me the freedom to do what I please. When I do what I please, I am in fact fulfilling His will and not contradicting it. He sovereignly gives me the freedom to make the sovereign choice. In fulfilling the freedom God gives me, I am fulfilling His sovereignity. He does not foreordain man to sin, what He foreordains is for man to have his freewill. If I choose to go to hell, it is not what His love would have chosen, but it would not reverse or cancel out His sovereignity.
God have mercy.
