Reconciled

Baer shows intention of genuine acceptance in his book. For that I am thankful. But it fails to extend the substance of truth. While 'love' gives hope, 'love' without truth deceives, and ceases to be love. The man is honest in seeing the elusiveness of real love, clever to detect the behaviour from the lack of it, yet he offers no real solution in its attempts to heal. While willingness to express truth about self is emphasized, the subject of real truth remains distant. There is no human explanation for our lives, and in its absence, this world should turn to God as the reason behind what it sees. Love without God's love as the core and basis, will turn to weariness. Love is the overflow of joy in God, Everlasting Love Himself. Only then it can meet the needs of self and others. The motive for every good deed and loving act is essentially the pursuit of pleasure. If one abandons the pursuit of the full and lasting pleasure, he/she cannot love nor taste love.

"I saw more clearly than ever, that the first great and primary business to which I ought to attend every day was to have my soul happy in the Lord" George Muller, Biography

"Now I'm reconciled to you, dear Love. You I have worshipped once as a pagan and reviled once as a professed "enlightened" person. Nay, I worship you no longer and revile you not ever again, I hope. You are a wonderful thing.. but too many are the sorrows of my past days to worship you. For many have posed as You, and those who fall short of Your glory do a wicked deed indeed in having posed and fallen short. Wicked, for nothing is more cruel than faith unanswered, hope unfounded and wisdom led astray." L.R.
