Deceit

And when you prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their own reward.

Dishonesty. A hypocrite is aggravated to mislead others, but in reality attempts to deceive himself and, ridiculously, God too. A hypocrite is reluctant to acknowledge own limitations and failings, and puts on mask to appear better than the actual fact.
